Here at the HSBC UK National Cycling Centre, we love bikes, and we're not ashamed to say.

We’re home to the world’s busiest and fastest Velodrome, the best indoor BMX track in the world, and a unique city based urban Mountain Bike trails and Skillszone!

We’re here to provide the best experience for everyone - whether it’s riding a bike, racing or watching - and to help you enjoy riding your bike, whatever your level.

Manchester Tennis and Football Centre

We're now opening from 8am Mon-Fri, a full extra hour for a knock or kick-about to start your mornings. And that first hour is available at half-price too! Aren't we nice...

You don't have to sign for MCFC to play football on the Etihad Campus...we have 3 superb 3G 5-a-side pitches available for all to book, as well as 6 indoor and 4 outdoor tennis courts, accessible for all to enjoy tennis, all year round.

All pitches and courts are open 7 days a week on a pay 'n' play basis, with no membership requirements. Bookings can be taken one week in advance.


Ten Acres Lane Sports Complex

Ten Acres Lane Sports Complex is home of the National Taekwondo Centre, a superb indoor martial arts facility for elite athletes that also delivers a wide variety of martial arts and Taekwondo classes available to local schools & clubs - all ages and abilities.

The facility also provides a modern 3G football pitch accommodating 5, 7, 9 and 11-a-side games for local clubs and one-off or block booked Pay & Play football - at an incredibly competitive price.

National Squash Centre

The National Squash Centre is one of the great legacies of the 2002 Commonwealth Games, undoubtedly one of the premier squash facilities in the world.

The Centre provides 6 squash courts that can convert from singles to doubles courts at the touch of a button and one glass-walled show court with new bowled seating - providing a unique atmospheric viewing experience, as well as home to England Squash and a training facility for Team England.

Manchester Regional Arena

Situated on the Etihad Campus, the arena is another superb legacy of the city hosting the 2002 Commonwealth Games, providing both indoor and outdoor athletics, both available for anyone to use when the venue is not booked out for an exclusive event.

Outdoor is an 8 lane, 400m track with an in-field long jump, javelin, discus and shot provision - with covered seating for >6,500 spectators.

Indoor is a 4 lane, 200m running track and a 8 lane, 60m sprint track, with indoor jumping pit and indoor throwing too - everyone is welcome, from complete novices to elite athletes. Call to discuss your needs. Location shared with National Squash Centre.


Belle Vue Sports Village

Located just past Belle Vue Greyhound Stadium, the village is now the proud home to the National Basketball Performance Centre and Belle Vue Leisure Centre providing school, community and elite use as well as the new home for the National Speedway Stadium .

The National Basketball Performance Centre boasts 3 superb courts with markings for basketball and netball, with the leisure centre offering access to an indoor multi-use sports hall, 2 new all-weather 3G pitches, dance studio and a community gym with cardio and free weights from as little as £12 per month - click on 'Make a Booking' and sign-up for Membership options. Our facility is available for drop-in, community, club and private hire.


Manchester Regional Gymnastics Centre

Located just behind Tesco Gorton, the centre provides a world-class purpose-built gymnastics facility, with classes delivered by qualified British Gymnastics Coaches, catering for all ages, shapes and abilities.

Platt Fields Park Outdoor BMX

Located in Fallowfield, South Manchester, our national standard track offers a range of technical features to challenge all cycling abilities.

Open 7-days a week we provide drop in, open, coaching, holiday and balance bikes sessions (to name a few...), as part of a varied and accessible program.

Book in advance, or just turn up, the choice is yours, with all necessary safety equipment and bikes also available to hire too.

Debdale Outdoor Centre

The Outdoor Centre provides an exciting range of outdoor activities including dinghy sailing, windsurfing, canoeing and kayaking, powerboating, indoor climbing, orienteering and team-building activities.

We cater for a wide variety of people from all ages and abilities, we deliver sessions to schools and community groups with the emphasis being on practical learning and an enjoyable experience.

We also deliver NGB courses for adults and children, individuals and groups, at various levels from easy to advanced and structured to promote your learning in a safe and enjoyable environment. Debdale Junior Activity Club are based at the centre and deliver recreational, progression and competitive sessions.


Active Lifestyles Centre

The Active Lifestyles Centre is a community sports centre with a multi-use hall suitable for 4 court badminton hall, all areas are available to book for individuals, teams and community groups.

Manchester Basketball Centre

Manchester Basketball Centre is situated on the main arterial route into the city, within the Whalley Range 11 - 18 High School campus. The Basketball Centre is a purpose built facility dedicated to the sport. The facility opened in July 2002 and provides basketball (3 court hall and show court), football (10 x 3G 5-a-side pitches) and Health and Fitness. Broadway Leisure Centre

The Centre is managed by Broadway Community Development Group, a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) Charity Commission.gov.uk Registration number 1157066.

Located in the heart of New Moston, the centre offers a wide variety of activities perfect for popping in on your way to / from work or for a visit with the whole family. Including Gym & Swim memberships. See pricing below.

National Speedway Stadium

In addition to the 40 thrilling speedway meetings a year, the Stadium is available to hire for both corporate and private events.

Located just 10 minutes from the city centre, the Stadium is easy to access with flexible external space. The site boasts over 160 free parking spaces, excellent transport links and free WiFi throughout.

The Stadium holds up to 400 delegates (theatre) 300 guests (banquet). The Peter Craven Suite boasts spectacular views across the speedway track and, combined with the two additional suites, concourse space and prime location, provides a truly unique setting for a wide range of event styles including exhibitions, functions, conferences, dinners and celebrations.

Wright Robinson College Leisure

Wright Robinson Leisure is the Community Sports Village at Wright Robinson College.
The Wright Robinson Sports Village houses some excellent facilities for community use.

Alexandra Park

Alexandra Park was opened to the public in1870 and was designed by Alexander Hennell. The design of the Park was experimental in its use of oval shaped and curved pathways, which contrasted with the more rigid geometry seen previously in Victorian landscapes.

The Park underwent a £5million transformation during 2013/14 with funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund, Manchester City Council, the Lawn Tennis Association, English Cricket Board and Sport England to bring the community facilities back to life.

It is located between the vibrant communities of Whalley Range & Moss Side, just off Princess Road and covers 60 acres.

Heaton Park

More than just a walk in the park, Heaton Park is a historic area on the edge of Manchester with all the attractions offering a full day out for all ages.

Take advantage of a packed events programme that takes place each year including outdoor concerts, dramas and plays. Also don't miss Heaton Hall's beautifully restored interiors to get a taste of the 18th century, with a collection of furniture, musical instruments and occasional recitals in the Music Room.

Visit the play areas, cafe's, Animal Centre, Tram Museum, bowling greens, golf course, boating lake, or try your hand at horse riding. You can also have a go at rowing boats, join in on walks and runs at the park, orienteering and even fishing.

Armitage Sports Centre

The Armitage Sports Centre is home to many of the Athletic Union sport clubs and community teams, being the perfect place to train on a wide range of high quality spaces, including new full size floodlit 3G pitches.

Alongside this, there is a split level fitness suite which holds an extensive list of excellent equipment that you can use with purchase of a membership.

Projekts Skatepark

Projekts MCR is based under the Mancunian Way flyover, on the edge of Manchester city centre, 300 metres from Piccadilly Station. Projekts Skatepark is one of the best designed skateparks in the UK. It has two parts - a 400 square metre wooden park and a 900 square metre concrete section and is perfect for skaters, BMX, scooters and inline skaters.

Woodhouse Park Lifestyle Centre

Woodhouse Park Lifestyle Centre includes facilities of a sports hall (also available for function hire for up to 500 people), Four 5-a-side football pitches, Three multi-use studios (suitable for dancing, fitness classes, boxing etc and also available for hire), and rooms and spaces available for hire. Perfect for hosting conferences, meetings and functions, Internet cafe.

Chorlton Water Park

Chorlton Water Park is a Local Nature Reserve comprising of a lake surrounded by grasslands and woodlands. There is car park, small playground, picnic benches and a network of accessible paths.

Course fishing is available on the lake, day or season tickets must be obtained from the park office.

Cringle Park

Cringle Park is a family friendly park, with multi-use games area and free tennis courts.

It also hosts 7 senior & 1 junior football pitch. Pitches can be booked online (takes to external site and booking process).

The park is a lovely area to sit and have a picnic, and is located 11 minutes from Levenshulme train station.


Debdale Park

Debdale Park is a large green oasis located in Gorton, East Manchester. It has large formal gardens and woodland areas incorporating 2 large reservoirs for licensed fishing.

It also facilitates a children's play area, Multi use games area (MUGA), Skate park, tennis courts (courts are free), football pitch, pitch and putt, bowling green, toilets, visitors centre, community centre, and an outdoor centre.

Fletcher Moss Botanical Gardens

The gardens and house, named 'The Croft' were sold to Alderman Fletcher Moss in 1912. The Croft was the birthplace of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB). Alderman Moss subsequently donated Fletcher Moss Gardens to the people of Manchester in 1919.

Fletcher Moss Botanical Gardens has retains many of its original features such as the rock and heather gardens.


Platt Fields Park

Platt Fields is one of Manchester's principal parks. In the heart of inner city Manchester, it serves a very large concentration of people of all ages and from a myriad of different cultural origins, living less than 15 minutes away. It is situated at the junction of three wards: Rusholme, Fallowfield and Moss Side.

The park offers children's play area, family activities, outdoor BMX track, skateboard park, bowling green, basketball, tennis along with some picturesque walks around a centrally positioned lake.


Wythenshawe Park

This beautiful park is set in 109 hectares of open parkland in South Manchester, with historic and ornamental woodlands, herbaceous borders, formal bedding, open grassland and beautiful wildflower meadows. It's grounds have certainly proved to be beautiful over the past few years.

The park is steeped in history and there are three Grade II Listed Buildings located within the park: North Lodge, the Statue of Oliver Cromwell and Wythenshawe Hall.

The park has 8 senior football pitches, that can be booked online (takes you to external website), children's play area, tennis courts (free), a garden centre, home to wonderful local community farm - check the Facebook page, pitch & putt and a bowling green... with so much to explore, see and do, you're best to visit yourself and check it all out in person!

Not forgetting a family run horse riding school based in the heart of park.


Platt Lane Sports Complex

Located in Fallowfield, Manchester Metropolitan University's Platt Lane Sports Complex offers a variety of top quality sports facilities, a fully equipped gym, a range of fitness classes and, maintaining the site's football heritage, a number of coaching sessions to suit all ages.

The complex is home to a number of sports clubs, including football, rugby union, rugby league and American football, as well as several of our recreational sport opportunities.

Boggart Hole Clough

Boggart Hole Clough is steeped in history and combines a number of picturesque cloughs varying from steep ravines to gentle sloping gullies.

The park is an attractive haven for relaxation but also boasts a number of activities and facilities, and is well worth a visit, including a Children's play area, Multi use games area (MUGA), athletics track, tennis courts (courts are free), bowling green, boating lake, fishing area, toilets and a cafe, with free Wi-Fi also available at the Visitor Centre.

The park stages a brand new Great Run Local every Sunday morning at 9.00am, along with number of cross-country events, mountain bike rides and summer Fundays.
