Platt Fields is one of Manchester's principal parks. In the heart of inner city Manchester, it serves a very large concentration of people of all ages and from a myriad of different cultural origins, living less than 15 minutes away. It is situated at the junction of three wards: Rusholme, Fallowfield and Moss Side.
The park offers children's play area, family activities, outdoor BMX track, skateboard park, bowling green, basketball, tennis along with some picturesque walks around a centrally positioned lake.

From Piccadilly Gardens in the city centre (stop H), take No. 142, 143, 141 to Platt Fields Park stop A. It is then approximately a 5 minute walk to the park.
The excellent Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) website contains route planners, to find your way from anywhere in Manchester, as well as downloadable timetables.
This session is suitable for all abilities. We will be using the 3G astroturf so boots are recommended but not essential. We suggest the use of shin pads for your own safety. Please come to the reception where you will be directed on how to find us.
The course is 5000m (5K) long. This has been accurately measured by us with a professional measuring wheel. It's run in Platt Fields Park, Fallowfield entirely on good quality paths. Some sections of the course may accumulate mud, leaves and puddles after rain. Dependent on availability, marshals will be at key sections of the course, or signs will be in place.
Platt Fields Park - Start at Lakeside Centre by Lake
A 2k run for juniors only (4-14 year olds). If you are not a junior please try one of our weekly Saturday parkrun events instead, every Sunday at 9:00am in Platt Fields Park, Fallowfield, Manchester, M14 6LA. The aim is to have fun. Platt Fields Park
An all-over body work-out for parents/carers with the aim to improve mobility, strength, stamina and all round fitness. This session sees parents/carers working out in the park with their child in a buggy/pram. Also suitable forpost natal. Make sure to wear loose comfortable clothing and appropriate leisure footwear. All you need to bring is a bottle of water. Parking available. Meeting point is at the lakeside centre.
