MOSTON BROOK VALLEY TRANSFORMATION – A GREEN OASIS IN THE HEART OF OUR CITY
Manchester City Council, in partnership with Oldham Council, is proud to celebrate the ongoing transformation of Moston Brook Valley – a vital green and blue corridor connecting Failsworth and Moston. This collaborative effort has created a haven for wildlife and a green oasis in the heart of our city, offering local residents the opportunity to experience nature right on their doorstep.
Access improvements are at the forefront of our commitment, encouraging more cycling, walking, and striding through this beautiful landscape. As an active travel route, Moston Brook provides residents with a sustainable connection to shops, schools, and community facilities while promoting healthier, greener neighbourhoods.
With dedicated funding, we’ve successfully resurfaced 100 meters of the main footpath and refurbished a pedestrian bridge off Broadway, ensuring year-round accessibility for all. This investment is part of Manchester’s Clean & Green programme.
Manchester and Oldham Councils remain committed to preserving and enhancing this incredible space—inviting everyone to explore, enjoy, and be part of its bright future.
