Free Swimming in MCR

Great news…Under 17 Manchester residents can now swim for FREE during weekends all year round too!

We’re thrilled to announce the addition of city-wide weekend FREE swimming on top of the current school holiday provision for under 17 residents in all Manchester pools.

Meaning, FREE swimming is now available for Under 17s during any public swim session during school holidays and selected times throughout the weekend all year round, and if you're Over 60, you can swim for FREE all year round in all public swim sessions at any of the 8 participating swimming pools.

If you want to make a splash with the 60,000 Mancunians who currently swim for free annually (not all at once!), see below for details of participating pools and sessions and how to register

How to Register

To be eligible for free swimming you must be aged Under 17 or Over 60 and live in Manchester.

Proof of age and residency is therefore required at the time of registration.

Proof of age could include a bus pass, passport or birth certificate.

Proof of residency could include a utility bill, such as your family’s Council Tax bill.

If you can provide all of this then all you need to do is apply for your free MCRactive card

You can apply right now on this website or if you prefer, you can apply in person at any of the participating swimming pools. Please note: once signed up, your card can be collected on your first visit to your chosen venue.
