Training & Development Hub in manchester

MCRactive are passionate about developing a coordinated city-wide TRAINING HUB which provides Continual Personal Development resources and training to help upskill the sector workforce.

The hub will co-ordinate opportunities for the people of Manchester and will support clubs to IDENTIFY, RECRUIT, TRAIN AND DEPLOY MORE VOLUNTEERS in sport and physical activity opportunities.
This is a one stop shop for that. Please make full use of our hub and explore the page and resources.

We at MCRactive are always looking to develop coaches in our city. We also work with partners across the country to try and better develop our coaches. Please see below links for workshops and training opportunities in Manchester.

Over the Easter and Spring Half terms we have had several sports clubs and youth organisation deliver on MCRactive behalf. They have delivered on the government Holiday Activity Fund initiative and MCRactive Holiday Offer of which offers young people regular exercise and healthy meal. The clubs involved have been involved in MCRactives training opportunities and have built a relationship due to this. MCRactive are looking to recruit a team of Manchester based Sports Coaches to deliver multi-sports sessions to young people across the city during the school holidays. These may include holiday camps as well as our programmes: active parks and active streets.

The Department For Education (DFE) have awarded Manchester with funding to deliver Holiday Activity & Food Programme for 2021-22. The Holiday Activity Fund programme is designed to provide support during the school holidays to those aged 5-16 who are in receipt of Free School Meals or have no recourse to public funds. In Manchester this equates to approximately 28,000 children and young people.

As a multi-sport coach, you will be reliable and responsible for delivering Multi-Sports holiday programmes on behalf of MCRactive during the school holidays, combining different sports and activities for 6–11-year old’s across the city of Manchester.

Multi-Sports Coaches are responsible for coaching and looking after a group of up to 30 children (with other coaches) delivering high-energy, fun and inclusive sessions that ensure every child is engaged, makes progress and has lots of fun regardless of their ability.

We would love you to be able to commit to as many holiday activities provisions as possible across the different school holidays, we understand that this won’t always be possible due to many other commitments you may have. However, we would love to work with you when you are available! (Our camps take place across many venues within the City of Manchester).

This role will be on a 0hour contract; however we have continuous coaching opportunities throughout the school holidays.

MCRactive are looking for experienced rugby union coaches to deliver on their summer holiday programme, as well as some school delivery across Manchester. Coaches must have completed an ERCA and have valid DBS and Safeguarding qualifications. Use of their own vehicle is essential and mileage/expenses will be covered.
